Free online study timer

Choose a course, set your minutes and begin a focused reading, practice or revision session. No installation required.

Try the study timer

Choose student mode, then guest access to start without an account.

How to use your study timer

  1. Add your course.
  2. Choose a duration, such as 25, 45 or 50 minutes.
  3. Start the countdown and enable sound in your browser.
  4. Reflect on your session and plan a break before continuing.

Guest data belongs to your browser session. An account lets you keep your study history and courses.

A flexible Pomodoro routine

Try 25 minutes of study followed by a short break, or adjust the duration to your task and attention. The integrated break timer requires Advanced; guest mode does not automatically alternate work and break cycles.

Review by chapter

With an account, enable chapter-based learning to follow reading, explanation, exercises, flashcards and review. Assess your objective after each session, or disable the learning path to keep a simple course-and-duration timer.

Explore the course reader, review flashcards and study timetable for exam preparation.

Study timer questions

Can I study without an account?

Yes. Guest access includes a free student timer without registration.

Will the alarm work with a locked screen?

It depends on your browser and device. Enable and test sound before starting; uninterrupted background alarms cannot be guaranteed.

Is Edyex only for Quebec students?

No. French and English interfaces are available in Quebec and elsewhere.

Organize your studies: build your own study method

Before starting the free timer, choose a concrete goal: understand a concept, solve a problem or review a chapter. A short study plan helps you decide what to work on, rather than only watching the countdown.

Study planning and student time management

Spread chapters across your revision schedule, taking exam dates and your availability into account. Keep study sessions realistic and adapt your study routine when your timetable changes.

Active recall and spaced repetition

Try answering without your notes, then check your answer. Use study flashcards to practise active recall and revisit difficult concepts. Spaced repetition means returning to material across several sessions rather than concentrating all your exam preparation into one evening.

A free online timer without registration is a simple starting point. Account-based tools help you organize courses and track learning; some features require Advanced.
